'Goanna' Print

from $75.00

“Looking back at artworks created in Lajamanu has made me realise I spent a lot of time looking down at the ground. Looking to now it seems this thread has stuck, often observing and painting subjects from a birds eye view both extremely close up to capture details as fine as desert sand, to distant rivers appearing as veins from the sky above. This goanna was no different, I was as interested in painting the speckles of surrounding rocks and sand as I was to the dehydrated goanna in all its patterned delights.” – AS

Inkjet print on Hahnemhul German Etching Rag. Printed by Joseph Landro in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Available in two sizes – 30 inches x 21.2 inches & 15 inches x 10.52 inches.

I'd say pandanus are my favourite plants to paint. Reminding me of fireworks, I love the pops of green across the landscape. They have reappeared in my practice in the studio as they are a comm
There are few things in the world that have made me cry upon witnessing them for the first time. Usually it's experiencing a pocket of incredible nature but in this instance it was visiting Sagrada Familia in Barcelona late last year.

Always inspired by my travels.

Pictured here is the studio of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in Mexico City I visited earlier this year. Such a joy getting a peep inside studio life of other artists in an incredible building designed by architect Jua

I have been delving right into studio land these past few weeks. I find my process is a little something like this.

Firstly, I love the loose and wild strokes I lay down at the beginning of the painting. Next the self doubt kicks in along with the

Blue has entered the studio.

After several months exploring the world I was constantly drawn towards ultramarine blue. In museums, on the street, in galleries and churches, my eyes always pulled me towards anything ultramarine blue.
